○ This is the house in which he lived in his childhood.
「ここが子供時代に彼が住んでいた家です」
in his childhood「（彼の）子供時代に」という意味です。
前置詞＋関係代名詞を見抜く！
関係詞でわからないときは、まず先行詞を後の文に入れて２文に分けます。
先行詞 the house を後の文に入れて、２文に分けます。
This is the house.
He lived in the house in his childhood.
１文にするとき、共通する the house を消して in which にします。
先行詞が人なら、前置詞＋whom となります。
（例）The man is Mr. Smith.
I was talking with him.
The man with whom I was talking is Mr.Smith.
「私が一緒に話をしていた人はスミスさんです」
ただし、前置詞を後に残し、関係詞も省略されるのが普通です。
The man I was talking with is Mr. Smith.
また、前置詞＋that とは言いませんので注意してください。
前置詞＋that（関係代名詞）という表現はありません。
本日の問題文も同様にすると
○ This is the house which he lived in in his childhood.
関係詞を省略すると
○ This is the house he lived in in his childhood.
in in と前置詞が重なりますが、全く問題はありません。
さらに、先行詞が the house で場所を表していますので
in which = where の書き換えが可能です。
○ This is the house where he lived in his childhood.
という表現も可能です。
