長文読解などでは、on her cheek という表現を目にすることもあります。
が、正しくは、on the cheek です。
the を用いることに注意。
kiss her cheek
「彼女のほほにキスをする」
kiss her on the cheek
「彼女にキスをするほほのところに」→「彼女のほほにキスをする」
「行為を受ける人」に重点を置いた表現です。
kiss her on the cheek は「だれにキスをした」のかを重視する表現です。
そして「ほほのところに」と補足が付け加わった表現です。
